Shawn is the co-founder and managing director of Biscuit Filmworks. A Duke graduate, Shawn ignored the advice of family friend Jay Chiat to avoid advertising altogether and immediately moved to New York after college to work at Young & Rubicam. Her journey in advertising, first in New York and later in Los Angeles with HKM, led her to work with then up-and-coming director Noam Murro and the two immediately hit it off.
In 2000, Shawn and Noam co-founded Biscuit Filmworks, which today represents some of the top creative talent in advertising and is one of the most awarded commercial production companies in the world. As managing director and partner, Shawn continues to expand the company’s roster, cultivate new talent relationships, and oversee the production of an acclaimed portfolio of work. In 2011, she spearheaded Biscuit’s international expansion with the opening of Biscuit UK in London, which represents much of the same talent as the US roster, along with a range of established and rising European talent.
Biscuit and its directors have been honored with countless AICP, D&AD, Clio, Cannes and One Show awards, and the company has repeatedly been named to Ad Age’s Production Company A-List.
Shawn’s creative instincts have helped establish Biscuit’s reputation for fostering talent from within, and serving as a trusted partner for top advertising agencies around the world to deliver standout commercial projects. A consummate multi-tasker, Shawn is also the proud mother of four great kids, True, Jett, Desta and Axel and is married to the best craft services guy in the business.
