NiaAndrews

Senior Producer of Video Production, Columbia Records

From ghostwriter to touring musician, Nia’s journey has balanced an affinity for music and motion picture in equal measure. Music video is her favorite point of connection between these two loves.

Graduating from UCLA at age nineteen, Nia’s foray into music video began as a director’s assistant where she soon began writing music video and commercial treatments. Her reputation as a veritable well of ideas and a quick, discerning talent spread swiftly, resulting in her conceiving a litany of music video concepts in the early aughts for production companies such as HSI, Little Minx, RSA, DNA and The Director’s Bureau.

It was after completing a writing fellowship with Film Independent’s Project Involve program that her music began to flourish. As a recording artist, some of Nia’s credits include touring as a background singer for artists Kamasi Washington and Lauryn Hill, penning vocals for Kelela and Jill Scott, and appearing on Solange’s award-winning album A Seat at the Table. Nia released her debut album in 2019, while simultaneously joining the ranks at Concord Label Group as Video Commissioner for five of their partner labels.

Since 2021, Nia has served as Senior Producer of Video Production at Columbia Records. Her unique sensitivity to creating from an array of juxtaposed perspectives is one she is proud to inhabit as a commissioner. Ever passionate about discovering emerging talent, developing artists and the art they create is at the center of her work ethos in the music video space.
