Writer/Director, Greenpoint Pictures
Lauren Sick is a writer and director who grew up in the dark woods of suburbia, screening inappropriate horror movies at slumber parties. Her film PARE has screened at the Oscars and BAFTA qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival, Beyond Fest, Panic Fest, Dumbo FF, Nightstream, and others, and has taken home awards for Best Horror Short and Best Director. The film premiered as an exclusive on Fangoria and was released through ALTER and Gunpowder & Sky. A lover of horror and genre filmmaking, Sick was a creative collaborator on the feature film Scare Me, starring Josh Ruben, Aya Cash, and Chris Redd, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020 and was picked up by Shudder.
Lauren's work spans both the narrative and commercial space, having grabbed the attention of clients such as Bose, Nike, New Balance, Oura, Xfinity, Garmin, ESPN, SoulCycle, Nasdaq, and Beats By Dre. She has also worked with some of the music industry's most exciting artists, including MØ, Foster the People, A-Trak, American Authors, El-P, Vampire Weekend, A$AP Ferg, and Anderson East. Her extensive music background led her to be commissioned to direct the first trailer for MGM Studios' Respect, starring Jennifer Hudson as Aretha Franklin.
Sick brings a youthful and adventurous expression to her filmmaking, coupling raw emotion with a distinct cinematic style. She sees every day on set as an opportunity to learn, grow, and build a collaborative community with her actors, clients, and crew. Her work has been recognized by Indiewire, BBC Worldwide, The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Deadline, and Rolling Stone, AdAge, Shots, AdWeek, and more.
