Head Judge – Cinematography

Cristina Dunlap has contributed her vision and skills as a Director of Photography to numerous award-winning projects including feature films, television series, music videos and commercials. This past year Cristina lensed two features that will be premiering at Sundance 2022.  Am I Ok?  Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne’s directorial feature debut starring Dakota Johnson & Sonoya Mizuno  and Cha Cha Real Smooth the second feature from SXSW winner Cooper Raiff. 

Her short film Cinephile was featured in the Rising Voices premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

 In 2020 she lensed three projects selected for SXSW: the narrative short Lip Service; the musical short film Cousin John - The Arrival, and the Refinery29-produced episodic series, Embrace, which premiered at Sundance and then went on to win top prize in the Episodic Pilot Competition at SXSW.

Her credits also include Brad Michael Elmore’s Bit, which premiered at Toronto’s Inside Out Festival, won the Grand Jury Award at the 2019 L.A. Outfest.

Cristina has lensed music videos for acclaimed artists including Lizzo, Coldplay, Kali Uchis, The Chainsmokers, and Katy Perry. She shot Brandi Carlile’s music video Party of One, which starred and was Creative Directed by Elisabeth Moss. 

She has worked with world class brands such as Vogue, Pepsi, CitiBank, Moschino, Cartier, Reebok, Neutrogena among others. 

Cristina was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and graduated from USC’s prestigious School of Cinematic Arts with a degree in Film Production. 

She is a tenth generation Californian and a first generation filmmaker.
