Founding Partner, Blacksmith

Born and raised in London, Charlotte ventured across the pond almost 20 years ago and has called New York her home ever since.

After cutting her teeth as an assistant editor at the legendary MacKenzie Cutler, she transitioned into the world of visual effects, joining The Mill as a producer in 2009. Having built a strong technical foundation of process and execution - as well as strengthening her creative sensibilities - she was soon creating high-calibre work for major brands across the globe.

A whole host of award-winning campaigns later, Charlotte, alongside The Mill alumni, Iwan Zwarts and Tom Bussell pioneered the VFX boutique movement by establishing Blacksmith in 2015. Since then, Blacksmith have continued to push the boundaries of innovation, creativity and expectation within the VFX landscape.

Her golden touch has resulted in continual collaborations with directors including Martin de Thurah, Kim Gehrig, and the late Ringan Ledwidge - as well as with brands on the scale of Facebook, Apple, Delta, and Mercedes. Working across everything from Allstate’s visual spectacle ‘Moon’ to the cinematic and conceptual Zillow ‘ Journey’ , Charlotte has seen Blacksmith garner countless awards across the industry, expand its capabilities into colour and most recently a west coast operation, and - above all - maintain the personal ethos that first sparked the company’s creation in 2015.
