Founder and Executive Producer, Melillo Music & Sound

At the age of six Melillo traded wooden spoons and pots and pans for his first real drum sticks and began a lifelong sonic obsession.

After formally studying Television Radio and Film Production with a specialty in audio at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications, Melillo began his career at the legendary Power Station recording studios as a production assistant and assistant engineer. Witnessing first hand the dramatic shift toward digital technology and the revolution that would affect what were then the temples of sound, Melillo set his sights on the broader music industry. As an executive at EMI Music Publishing (Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G., Foo Fighters, Queen, Pink!, Alicia Keys), Melillo founded the first division within a major music company to provide a creative bridge between the mainstream music business and the world of branded communication, essentially heralding in the era of convergence between the two media.  Melillo played a founding role in the Guitar Hero phenomenon, providing over half of the repertoire and writing its original business framework. Melillo was the first in the music business to monetize YouTube. Over the years Melillo has held various senior creative executive positions throughout the music and media industries.

Producer, Entertainment Executive, Music Supervisor, Creative Consultant, Sonic Strategist, Licensing Specialist, Music Publisher, Dealmaker, Song Plugger, Engineer, Artist Manager, Musician... Melillo currently channels his broad experience and extensive capabilities to support the music and sound needs of his clients via MELILLO MUSIC & Sound.
