Founder and Executive Producer, The Corner Shop

Anna Hashmi is the Founder and Executive Producer of The Corner Shop, which opened in 2013 in Los Angeles, with a London office that opened in 2021 with partner and director Sara Dunlop.

A south Londoner, Hashmi grew up in the industry in the UK where she went on to produce award winning campaigns in the UK, Europe and US with a long list of talented directors.

An honored recipient of a PRIMETIME COMMERCIAL EMMY for Malik Vitthal’s inaugural commercial for P&G ‘The Talk’ which was also awarded at the AICP, the Cultural Driver at the One Show, D&AD, Addys best in Show as well as Film Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions.

This year, The Corner Shop received BAFTA WIN for their first TV work, for the short form series developed and produced for writer/director Sindha Agha for Channel 4 entitled ‘How To Be A Person’, and a Grand Jury Prize at DOC NYC for ‘Holy Cowboys’, a short doc produced for director Varun Chopra.
From developing first-time commercials directors and helming huge global advertising campaigns, Hashmi has grown The Corner Shop into a production studio dedicated to creativity. Curating a roster of eclectic directors, and investing in and nurturing young emerging talent with a focus on diversity and multiculturalism to reflect her own mixed race heritage, and promote stories and perspectives from different backgrounds.
When not working, Hashmi loves to have a little dance, and perhaps a bit of karaoke.
