Simon Oxley began his career in film production when he landed an entry level role as a runner at a post house in London. After a brief stint as a rushes runner on a feature film, Oxley moved to New York and began working with Merchant Ivory Productions. There he rose through the ranks, working closely with the late Ismail Merchant and shooting films in China, Argentina, the US and Canada. This culminated with him Associate Producing “The City of Your Final Destination” starring Anthony Hopkins, Laura Linney & Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Having learnt the ropes in a high stakes environment, and at a fiercely independent company, Oxley decided to set up his own business in 2012 and Greatcoat Films was born. The creative production company works across ads, short films, music videos and branded content, with a focus on developing emerging directors.
