Maarten J.N.W. Sundermann is a filmmaker focused on creative development and film production. After graduating from the New York Film Academy he started his career assisting the Coppola family, working his way up by combining laundry pick-ups with writing creative treatments in the evenings, and learning from the best in Hollywood. He continued his career in film across the creative and film industries, working with the likes of The Director Bureau, TBWA/Chiat/DAY New York, AKQA, Operator Studios and now Media.Monks.
Currently, as Global Head of Film Craft & Directors at Media.Monks, Maarten develops over 180 film projects annually, working with the company's offices across 32 countries. Over the course of his four years at Media.Monks he’s been awarded and nominated more than 40 times by the likes of Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, Shots, Clio, D&AD, One Show, Ciclope, Arrows and Effies.
