Amanda James is an award-winning editor and partner at Final Cut. Her impressive and varied career has seen her work on celebrated campaigns for Guinness, Facebook, Just Eat, Audi and Virgin Atlantic to name a few, collaborating with directors including Tim Burton, Yorgos Lanthimos and Francois Rousselet.
At the end of 2021 Amanda was named Editor of the Year at the shots Awards EMEA and in the year since she’s received acclaim for both short and long-from projects. Her work on Channel 4 “Super. Human.” for the Tokyo Paralympics, directed by Bradford Young, has earned Amanda awards for editing at advertising festivals around the world, with golds at Cannes Lions, Creative Circle and Promax. At this year’s Academy Awards, “The Long Goodbye,” directed by Aneil Karia, starring Riz Ahmed and edited by Amanda, won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film.
Amanda’s award-winning music video catalogue includes work for The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, U2 and Oasis. Her work on Jay-Z’s “On to the next one,” directed by Sam Brown, earned her the award for Best Editing at the UK Music Video Awards.
