Ben Kwok is an award winning VFX supervisor and compositor at Blacksmith. Born and raised in Yorkshire, England, his decade-long career in visual effects has sent him across multiple continents on a myriad of projects through film, TV, commercials and music videos. Three years ago Ben joined the Blacksmith team in New York and hasn’t looked back since.
Ben has been making a name for himself in the past few years, picking up awards and nominations at AICP, shots Awards, Ciclope, VES and D&AD. He promises that this hasn’t gone to his head.
Notable projects that Ben has been involved with include Apple’s latest winter commercial, ‘Share the Joy’, Zillow’s ‘Journey’ and Allstate’s ‘Joyride’.
A keen eye for detail and an understanding of the pressures and compromises that come with creating art in a visual medium make him a great choice to review this year’s entries.
