Owner/Managing Partner, Cosmo Street

Yvette Cobarrubias is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Cosmo Street Editorial, an award-winning post-production company. Over the last two decades, alongside Managing Partner Tom Scherma and Partner Maura Woodward, Cobarrubias has transformed Cosmo Street from a single-editor operation into an internationally recognised brand. With five domestic locations and a sister company in London, Cosmo Street’s diverse roster of over 30 acclaimed artists delivers a full spectrum of editorial, VFX, colour, graphics, design, and audio services. Cosmo Street consistently pushes the boundaries of creative excellence.

Cobarrubias oversees collaboration with some of the world’s leading brands, including Apple, Nike, Google, Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Mercedes, and PlayStation, shaping campaigns that have defined advertising standards. Beyond the advertising sphere, her film credits as Executive Producer, Post-Producer, and Associate Producer include critically acclaimed films like The Florida Project and Love Liza, as well as Ron Howard’s Project Imagination/Canon Films, directed by Jamie Foxx, and the Glamour Films/Reel Moments series, helmed by a stellar lineup of directors such as Demi Moore, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Zoe Saldana.

Cobarrubias' industry leadership is evident in her longevity on the AICE, now AICP board, where she currently serves as President of the West board and also sits on the National board. She was honoured to be asked to Chair the 2022 Post Awards and to speak on behalf of her peers at MoMA. Her dedication is also demonstrated through her role as an elected Television Academy Co-Governor, where she champions the art of commercials, helps lead an incredibly accomplished Peer Group Executive Committee, and co-chairs the Creative Arts Show committee.

Additionally, she co-founded the Women's Forum, a hugely successful quarterly national community event, and has produced, won, or judged many reputable award shows including the Clios, AICP, Cannes Lions, and the Emmys.

Deeply committed to achieving excellence, promoting diversity, and mentoring the next generation, Cobarrubias is a board member of Green the Bid and actively mentors through initiatives such as Women Who Create and AICP. Under her leadership, Cosmo Street is a proudly certified WBENC and MBE company, advocating for gender equality and representation in media.

Cobarrubias lives in Chicago with her husband, children, and dogs, where she balances her professional energies with her passion for the Rolling Stones, creating beautiful charcuterie platters, and living her life with laughter.
