Kelly Bayett is the Founder of the award-winning sound studio Barking Owl and Managing Partner of the newly launched production company Love Song. Over the last ten years, Bayett has built a reputation as a creative leader and mentor, as well as a passionate challenger of the status quo.
In 2009, Bayett launched the award-winning, woman-owned music and sound studio Barking Owl, which now operates studios in Los Angeles and New York. The studio has received numerous awards and accolades over the years, including Ad Age’s A-List Sound and Music Company of the Year in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Barking Owl was also named LIA Music and Sound Company of the Year in 2018 and 2021, as well as shots Music and Sound Company of the Year in 2024.
In 2021, Bayett transitioned from music to commercial film production, launching Love Song with acclaimed Director and Co-Founder Daniel Wolfe. Built on the same ethos as Barking Owl, Love Song represents a new paradigm for production, focusing on promoting, mentoring, and amplifying exceptional talent. The company won a Grand Prix at Ciclope for its very first project, the Facebook (now Meta) film Skate Nation Ghana, which also took home Gold and Silver awards at LIA and the Advertising Excellence/Campaign honour at AICP. Love Song was named shots Production Company of the Year Finalist and Production Company of the Year at the British Arrows 2024.
Bayett has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, and Campaign 40 Over 40. She lives with three of her four children, two bulldogs, and one very patient husband.
