ShaneValentino

Shane Valentino was born and raised in Los Angeles. He is a graduate of Occidental College and San Francisco Art Institutes Experimental Film Program (MFA).  He had the good fortune of studying filmmaking with the iconic fine art filmmakers Chick Strand, Ernie Gehr, George Kuchar and Martin Arnold. He shifted his fine art filmmaking practice to a career in art directing on feature films, including Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, Alejandro Agresti’s The Lake House, and Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere. Valentino served as production designer on Mike Mill’s Beginners and on Ryan Murphy’s HBO Emmy winning The Normal Heart.  Valentino designed Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Production Design and was also the production designer on F. Gary Gray’s Straight Outta Compton, Andrea Berloff’s The Kitchen and Aaron Sorkin’s film, The Trial of the Chicago Seven.  His commercial work includes production design for Chanel, Apple, Rolex, Audi, Armani and BMW. 

When he is not designing for film, television and commercials, he works at the design studio he opened with fellow production designer Nathan Crowley - LAMB Design Studio.  The studio creates museum exhibitions, retail installations, and high level packages for architectural spaces, consumer products and branded experiences.

Valentino Lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and two daughters.
