Executive Producer, Birth
Kate heads up the UK operations of the renowned French production company Birth since opening its doors two years ago. In this short time, Birth has already worked with adam&eveDDB, BBH, Saatchi and Saatchi, McCann’s, Ogilvy (Hogarth) M&C Saatchi, and Edelman for clients Twitch, LNER,Gillette, Liptons, Philips, Nurofen and Asics.
She has worked in the UK ad industry for over 20 years in sales, new business and as executive producer and says “I am a tenacious believer in creativity and strong production values, on every project regardless of budget.”
Prior to joining Birth, Kate founded Agent Elson, representing clients including Riff Raff, Canada, Antiestatico and giffgaff as well as Birth. Previously, Kate founded Bikini Films with director Andy Morahan and was MD at Believe Media. She started out in advertising on the agency side with Tim Ashton at Bates Dorland, then moved to production as Head of New Business at Harry Nash.
Here she worked alongside legendary directors Fredrik Bond on ’Supernoodles Face Off’ for Batchelors, Ringan Ledwidge on 'VW Polo Self Defence' for Volkswagen (Cannes Silver Lion) and Philippe André on ‘Roboboy - Dirt Is Good’ for Persil Unilver (Cannes Bronze Lion).
Kate is particularly keen on promoting equality and diversity across all aspects of the industry and has judged the British Arrows, The Shiny Awards and shots Awards. All experiences, she says, “that feed my passion for promoting the work of great directors and discovering new talent”.
