Co-Founder & Producer, Trash Studio
Yoichiro Kugimiya set up Trash Studio in 2004, following his prolific career as a high-profile producer and promoter in the Japanese manga and gaming industries. He was later joined by renowned animation director Yoshiharu Sato as a main collaborator. Sato has worked on many of the greatest Ghibli films of all time, including the likes of My Neighbour Totoro and Only Yesterday.
Trash Studio have since brought the anime tradition to a range of projects for original and branded content commissioners. Alongside managing various projects at Trash Studio, Kugimiya works closely with Studio Ghibli and is an active collector of original manga animation drawings and character merchandising. His enviable collections have been loaned to museum exhibitions around the world.
