Tanya Babic is one half of Sydney based independent directing duo, VERSUS.
Tanya and her co-director, Jason Sukadana met at art school whilst completing respective degrees in Electronic and Temporal Arts. The two bonded over a shared creative approach of combining contemporary art theory with commercial aesthetics.
Over the past 12 years, VERSUS has become a highly sought after directing tandem, known for pairing striking visuals with a commitment to authentic storytelling. VERSUS craft compelling films and live experiences, with a particular focus on music, documentary and the arts.
VERSUS partners with cultural institutions for original entertainment commissions and agencies/brands for commercial work. As a result, you might find them creating a ten part concert series at The Sydney Opera House one week and a toilet freshener spot the next. Whether directing the Wu Tang Clan or Australian Publicans in the outback, Tanya and Jason have forged career in bringing their artistic sensibilities to a broad range of screen and stage work.
Their work has received recognition at some of the most prestigious award shows around the world including WARC, One Show and Shorty Awards. They are the recipients of a Vimeo Staff Pick, various Webby Honours and multiple short film festival features.
